Types Of Decisions Managers Can Formulate, Programmed And...

A decision is acknowledging there is an opportunity for different choices to be made. There are two types of decisions managers can formulate, programmed and nonprogrammed decisions. A programmed decision is when there is a recurring problem, and the manager knows that they can apply a rule to the decision. An example of a programmed decision would be similar to ordering supplies needed for the office. In a programmed decision the, risk of failure is relatively low since as a manager, you have made this decision before and almost certainly know the outcome of that decision. A nonprogrammed decision is when there is a unique situation, unstructured or poorly defined situation, which will cause significant consequences if not handled†¦show more content†¦When managers try and justify past decisions, they might think of how the solution they came up with worked but wasn’t 100% successful. Maybe tweak a few points, and it will be a more suitable solution. Managers might a lso be overconfident in their decision that it can come to backfire on them. Ways to help make the right decision is to start with potential brainstorming solutions with solid evidence than engaging in rigorous debates. 2. They like to meet new people and tend to be optimistic and talkative. They make friends easily, feel comfortable around people and are skilled in handling a social situation. Their optimistic interpretations of the future allow extroverts to emerge as group leaders or to be perceived as a leader figure. However, while sociability and dominance are essential attributes for leaders, some who are excessively extroverted, have a tendency to behave in an aggressive, grandiose, and bold way. They tend to be in the spotlight and like to be the center of attention and can jump from one conversation or idea to another as well as over-estimating their personal capabilities, is a behavioral quality that is characterized by the energy and sociability of a person.
